Freshly isolated ileum samples were mounted into modified Ussing chambers and incubated with the indicated concentration of bile acid for 30 minutes and then FITC-Dextran was added to mucosal side. Permeation coefficient was calculated by taking samples from chambers every 10–15 minutes and measuring the amount of fluorescence.
