  1. 3-4 week old C57BL/6J male mice were fed four DIO diets with different fat types and the control diet for 3 months. Genomic DNA isolated from epididymal fat tissue was analyzed for methylation status of 14 CpG sites at the indicated positions of the POMC gene promoter spanning nucleotides -660 to -53 relative to transcription start site. Data for each CpG site represent the mean percentage level (0% = nonmethylated, 100% = methylated) determined from 15 mice in each group.
