The mRNA expression levels measured with quantitative RT-PCR in gastocnemius muscle. (A) In the mRNA expression levels of PDK4 there was a statistical effect of diet. The expression levels were significantly higher in HF mice groups compared to LFsed animals and additionally in HFexe group compared to LFexe. PGC-1α (B) expression level differences did not reach statistical significance between any of the groups. Also the mRNA expression levels of ERRα (C) showed a statistical effect of diet. HFexe mice had significantly higher expression in ERRα compared to other groups.
