ALA upregulated protein expression levels of AMPK, SIRT1, and PGC-1α in the skeletal muscles of OLETF rats. The phosphorylation of AMPK and p38 MAPK, and AMPK, SIRT1, PGC-1α, p38 MAPK expression levels in rat skeletal muscle were determined after 8 weeks of ALA treatment using a western blot analyses, b scanning densitometry.
