Effect of SCLE on the body weight gain in mice (g). The body weight gain of the HFD was significantly higher than that of the control from second week to the end of this experiment. In contrast, 0.25% SCLE significantly decreased the body weight gain from week 6. Also, 0.5 and 1.0% SCLE significantly decreased the body weight gain of high-fat diet induced obese mice at the fourth week. Values are means ± SEM of 10 mice. *: Significant difference at p < 0.05 compared to the HFD. The body weight gain of the HFD group was significantly higher than that of the control from second week to the end of this experiment. At the sixth week, the body weight gain of 1.0% SCLE-treated group was normally to control. These results are not shown in Fig. 1
