NC: Normal Control, N + B-40: Normal rats + 40 mg/kg body weight betanin, DM: Diabetic Control, DM + B-10: Diabetic rat + 10 mg/kg body weight betanin, DM + B-20: Diabetic rat + 20 mg/kg body weight betanin, DM + B-40: Diabetic rat + 40 mg/kg body weight betanin, DM + GI: Diabetic rat + Glibenclamide. The number of rats in NC group was 6, in DM + B-10 was 4 and in all other study groups was 5.
