L-carnitine activates the AKT/FOXO3a/MaFbx pathway, increase p70S6k protein expression, and promotes p-p70S6k phosphorylation to ameliorates the muscle wasting of cancer cachexia in CT26-bearing mice. The expression levels of total AKT, p-AKT, p70S6K, p-p70S6K, total FOXO3a, p-FOXO3a, MuRF1 and MAFbx were determined by Western blotting tissue homogenates of the gastrocnemius muscle from mice with cancer cachexia
