  1. Total phenolic content is expressed as μg of gallic acid equivalents (GAE) per gram of pomace; total flavonoid content is expressed as μg of rutin equivalents (RE) per gram of pomace. Oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) was measured in triplicate, values expressed as micromoles Trolox equivalents per gram of pomace (μmol TE/g). The DPPH radical scavenging activity was expressed as percent inhibition of DPPH free radical per mg of pomace. For each measurement, the data marked by different letters for each assay are significantly different (P < 0.05).
