Circadian alterations in lipogenic genes by ENF under isocaloric conditions. Liver and epididymal fat samples were collected at ZT 0, 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 after 4 days of treatment. Gene expression of sterol regulatory element binding protein-1c (Srebp-1c), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (Ppar α), fatty acid synthase (Fas), acetyl-CoA carboxylase (Acc), stearoyl-coenzyme A desaturase-1 (Scd-1) and glycerol-phosphate acyl-transferase-1 (Gpat-1) under CR diets (shown in Figure 4) was estimated by RT-PCR under different dietary conditions. The relative levels (IC control = 1) were further normalized to the 18S RNA levels. Dark periods are indicated by the gray area. All of the values are expressed as the mean +/- SEM (n = 6 per time point). *p < 0.05 for the ENF groups compared with the IC-control.
